Interesting however in most setups where public mail is blocked, user doesn't have admin privileges to install and 90% of the time it's a windows machine for the developer. Now, the only solution could be an eclipse plugin which does all this silently over http. (eclipse plugins can be installed over the internet without admin privs).

Any tools for the same?

if a corporate firewall is blocking pop3 access, chances are it's doing the same thing with IMAP. all the same, i didn't realize pine works with imap until recently, as does gmail, once it's enabled.inbox-path = {imap.gmail.com/novalidate-cert/imap/ssl/user=rtc@gmail.com}inboxsmtp-server = {smtp.gmail.com/user=rtc@gmail.com/sslwhen you delete an email in pine via imap, gmail archives it.
